Real Madrid News: Twitter erupts after Ronaldo outclasses Neymar in the Champions League
- Updated: February 15, 2018
Cristiano Ronaldo again proved that he indeed is the king of the Champions League as he netted twice to help Real Madrid take a 3-1 lead into the second leg of their Champions League Round of 16 clash against PSG. The double strike from the Portuguese skipper helped wipe out Adrien Rabiot's early strike – putting Real in the driver's seat for the contest.
Ronaldo has had a tough season so far in La Liga but in the Champions League, he has been in top gear – scoring in all seven games of the competition so far. And with this performance, he has again gone on to prove all the doubters wrong.
Thorughly impressed with Ronaldo's stellar show in the game against PSG, people took to Twitter to make their presence felt. Here are what people had to say on the social media platform.
Since September 2009 in the #UCL…
Cristiano Ronaldo: goals.
Leo Messi: 80 goals. pic.twitter.com/HHtfE1fOn4

Ronaldo gets more remarkable with every year. Hat-tricks vs Bayern and Atletico in the knockout rounds last year, two past Juve in the final and two past PSG. One of the most driven players in history. #RMAPSG

Ronaldo didn't attempt or complete a take-on but he had 10 goal attempts, got 4 on target & scored 2.
Neymar attempted 15 take-ons, completed 13 but he had 2 goal attempts, got 1 on target & scored 0.
I don't know about you but I'll take goal attempts & goals over take-ons.

Ronaldo often being labelled as a box player only but tonight he proved his haters wrong once again He played a teamgame, even tracking down at times. Though that wasn't his best game but you can't expect more from 33 yrs old player. Goals wins you games.

Only 15 of Ronaldo’s 101 CL goals for Real Madrid have been penalties.
While 13 of Messi’s 80 CL goals for Barcelona have been penalties.
