Real Madrid News: Luka Modric’s wife offered him to Inter Milan

Amidst rumours of Inter Milan’s interest in signing Real Madrid superstar Luka Modric, it has emerged that the Croat’s wife herself offered the player to the Italian club. According to reports in Gazzetta dello Sport, Modric's wife, Vanja Bosnic, brought up the possibility of the 32-year-old’s move to Inter, a development the club reacted to positively. However, despite the player’s interest in moving to Italy, the deal is far from straightforward with Real Madrid unlikely to let go of their prized asset so soon after losing Cristiano Ronaldo to Juventus and so late in the window.
Modric starred for Croatia at the World Cup in Russia, carrying home the Golden Ball award and proving that he is far from on the decline. Madrid are keen on retaining his services and were reportedly set to hold showdown talks with the midfielder later in the week, once he returns from holiday.
According to the report though, Inter are seeking a loan move for Modric as they look to stay on the right side of FFP regulations. If Madrid are unwilling to conduct business, Inter will turn their attentions to Bayern Munich midfielder Arturo Vidal, who is also the target of La Liga champions Barcelona.
Modric has been an instrumental part of the Madrid side since joining them six years ago, winning the Champions League four times and La Liga once, widely establishing himself as one of the greatest midfielders at present. He was also linked with a move to the Premier League earlier in the summer, but a concrete offer was never made.
Inter, meanwhile, have already completed a whole host of signings this window: Nainggolan arrived from Roma, Sime Vrsaljko from Atletico, de Vrij and Asamoah from Lazio and Juventus respectively, and Lautaro Martinez from Racing Club amongst others. However, they are looking to add Modric to a midfield consisting of Perisic, Vecino and Brozovic in an attempt to develop a squad capable of dethroning champions Juventus.
