Real Madrid mulling £120million move for Manchester United star – reports

Spanish and European champions Real Madrid are readying a move for Manchester United midfielder Paul Pogba this coming summer.

According to reports from The Sun, the Blancos will once again look to lure the midfielder to the Bernabeu after missing out on his signature in 2016.

That summer saw Pogba return to Manchester United in a world-record £89million move from Juventus. United are believed to have no interest in parting with the French star. However, with Madrid mulling an offer in excess £120million one would never say never.

The Frenchman has come under heavy criticism in recent time over his lacklustre displays against Tottenham and Newcastle. Both the games saw Jose Mourinho haul the player off at one point.

Into his second season of his five-year contract, the Frenchman is yet find his niche at Old Trafford. Thus an offer at that level may well tempt both Mourinho as well as Ed Woodward to sell on a high.

There have already been murmurs of discontent about how and where Mourinho has deployed the 24-year-old in his formations. The Frenchman has also come under some scathing reviews in the recent past from the likes of Roy Keane, Paul Ince and Greame Souness.

Substituted in two of the last three matches, Pogba saw himself getting dropped for United 2-0 win over Huddersfield as well.

While the odds will certainly remain highly in favour of the Frenchman staying at Old Trafford one can’t rule out a move – especially with the astronomical figures in question.
