Nicklas Bendtner arrested for breaking a taxi driver’s jaw

Former Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner is in the news again after he was involved in an incident with a taxi driver as he allegedly broke the driver's jaw in the early hours of Sunday.

The Danish striker, who is currently playing for Rosenborg in Norway, was not included in the Denmark squad that will be taking on Wales and was spotted in Copenhagen during the international break.

Danish newspaper Ekstra Bladet claims that Bendtner was charged by police and the communications manager of the Taxi Agency, DanTaxi has confirmed that the driver has reported the name as Bendtner and the Danish international's actions have deeply shaken the people out there.

Communications Manager for DanTaxi, Rasmus Krochin, says that the driver should be operated for a broken jaw and that it was the Danish football star that caused it. 'It's the name that the driver has reported. We are deeply shaken. This applies to everyone in the house. We have been informed internally, and of course there is something that shakes people,' Krochin said.

The Copenhagen Police have refused to give any information on the incident or confirm whether the named persons have been involved or not. But, police chief executive Carsten Reenberg did give away that he received a notification of violence against a passenger car driver in Copenhagen city center at around 2:40 AM local time. Neither Bendtner nor his club Rosenborg were available for their comments on the saga.

Bendtner joined Arsenal in 2005 and has played 108 games in which he scored 24 goals before leaving the Gunners in 2014. During his time at Arsenal, he went on loan to Birmingham City, Sunderland and Juventus. Since leaving the Premier League giants, the 30-year-old has played for VFL Wolfsburg and Nottingham Forest before joining his current club Rosenborg in 2017.
