Neymar’s son is a huge fan of Mbappe
- Updated: October 8, 2018
Brazilian star footballer Neymar revealed that his son, Davi Lucca da Silva Santos, is a huge fan of Kylian Mbappe’s footballing prowess. According to the former Barcelona forward, his son talks about Mbappe all the time. At the same time, he also hailed his teammate’s character and maturity.
Mbappe lit up the second half against Lyon when he netted four goals in the space of 13 minutes as Paris Saint-Germain won the match by a 5-0 margin to maintain their 100% start to the league season. Tomas Tuchel seems to have infused a new dimension in this star-studded side full of precious talents and at his disposal, the French giants have scored 32 goals in their nine games.
Neymar scored the other goal of the game – a penalty won by none other than Mbappe. Speaking after the match about his son’s admiration for the 19-year-old, he said:
'My son loves Mbappe a lot. I took him to training and he was talking about Kylian all the time. He wanted to take a picture to show his friends at school, he took it and was very happy.'
The winger, who’s four-goal haul was the fastest by any player in the last 45 seasons of Ligue 1, drew plaudits from his teammate. Neymar continued by stating that the teenager too, is aware of his responsibilities and is a leader at such a tender age.
'I know my value, I know the pressure that exists, I know my responsibilities. But we have many quality players who also have their responsibilities. Kylian is one of them. He is a technical leader and the group respects him. As soon as he opens his mouth to say something we listen to him and understand him, no matter how old he is.”
'This is a group where everyone knows the importance of each and tonight I want to congratulate him,” he added.
Post international break, PSG host Amiens SC in the league on 20 October as they look to make it ten out of ten.
