Top Qatari Club Al-Duhail Ropes in This Mega-Star from Juventus

Mario Mandzukic, the Croatian international striker was roped in by Al-Duhail, the top Qatarian Club from Juventus as per the latest reports from the league leaders of the Qatar Sports League. The club was founded as Al-Shorta Doha and in 2009 was renamed to Lekhwiya. Lekhwiya Club has the biggest financial budget in Qatar. Meanwhile, there were reports from the British media that he was about to join Manchester United but now will play for the top club in the Qatar Sports League having terminated his deal with Juventus, which was due to expire in June 2021.

The club was founded as Al-Shorta Doha and in 2009 was renamed to Lekhwiya. In the first season of the Qatar Sports League in 2011, Al -Duhail won the title. It was the first league title in the club’s history. It is the first team in Qatar’s football history to win the first division title on its debut season. In April 2017, it was announced that the club would take over El Jaish SC and merge with following the 2016–17 Qatar Stars League and be known as Al-Duhail Sports Club in the rebranding of Lekhwiya SC.

Meanwhile, as far as Madzukic’s career goes, he has scored 44 goals in 162 games in all competitions for Juventus after joining them from Spain’s Atletico Madrid in 2014. However, he has not been a part of the playing XI in this season under Maurizio Sarri. He has previously played for German sides Bayern Munich and Wolfsburg among other clubs.

The Qatarian Club Al-Duhail is on 29 points at the moment in the Qatar Sports League remaining unbeaten in the last 11 games under their new head coach Rui Faria who was once an assistant to former Real Madrid coach Jose Mourinho.
