Manchester United favourites to sign Arsenal star

It is very clear that Mesut Ozil is struggling to find form under new coach Unai Emery and the German international could be on his way out of Emirates in the coming months.

Bookmakers Ladbrokes have seen a flurry of bets from punters believing that the midfielder will leave Arsenal as a result of his current form and Emery's playing style. Two teams that are the favourites to land Ozil are Manchester United and to everyone's surprise, Fenerbahce.

According to the odds, Turkish giants Fenerbahce are slight favourites at 5/2 to sign the midfielder but United are not far behind as they are just behind the Turkish club at 4/1. Interestingly, there is also a 6/1 odds of a club from China being Ozil's next home while European giants like Paris Saint-Germain and Bayern Munich are still in the mix.

'Ozil might be Arsenal's highest earner, but that won't guarantee him playing time under Emery. And the latest odds suggest the German could be months away from a mega-money move to Manchester,' Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said.

Ozil, who joined Arsenal from Real Madrid before the start of the 2013 season, was linked with a move Manchester United for a majority of last season before he signed a new contract at Arsenal. According to his latest contract that he signed in January, the 29-year-old will £350,000-a-week and will stay at the club till 2021.

With Ozil struggling for form and a few other players doing well, his place in the playing XI for the Gunners' next few games remains a doubt. Arsenal, who are currently ninth in the Premier League table, will play Newcastle United away on Saturday after the international break before they begin their UEFA Europa League campaign next mid-week when they host Ukrainian side Vorskla Poltava at the Emirates.
