Manchester United want £80 million for Anthony Martial – Reports

Manchester United are ready to sell Anthony Martial as per widespread reports in the English media. Jose Mourinho has lost his patience with the Frenchman and wants to sell him this summer.

Martial left the pre-season tour earlier this week to head to Paris for the birth of his second child. The former AS Monaco man left his manager frustrated as he is already without his top players due to their involvement in the World Cup.

'I found out that Martial was going to Paris when he told me. It was two or three days ago. When it is personal reasons, everyone analyses that the way he thinks is the correct way and when a man is going to be a father, in this case, it's the second time he is going to be a father, and he decides it is very important for him to go, nobody has the right to stop him to go.' said the manager.

ManUtd are reportedly looking for £80 million from any club interested in signing Martial. Chelsea and Bayern Munich have been linked with him, but he might not be affordable at that price for the two clubs.

The Blues have a trump card in their hands right now. Willian’s move to Barcelona has collapsed after the two clubs did not find an agreement in the fees. They can use United’s interest in signing the Brazilian and get Martial in return.

Mourinho is a big fan of the winger and is looking to sign him. He tried to get him last summer as well, but Chelsea rebuffed all interest as they had just sold Nemanja Matic to the Old Trafford side.

Bayern Munich, meanwhile, see Martial as an ideal long-term replacement for Franck Ribéry. The 35-year-old just signed a one-year extension, but this is expected to be his last season at the Bundesliga side.
