Manchester looking to replace Jose Mourinho with Nuno Santo

Manchester United will look to appoint Nuno Santo if they fail to land Zinedine Zidane according to BILD. The German publication claims that the manager’s impressive stint at Wolverhampton has caught the United board’s eyes.

Jose Mourinho’s days at Manchester United are said to be numbered. The manager has lost 2 of the first 4 Premier League matches and reports suggest that he is running on thin ice.

Moreover, Mourinho has not managed to keep the players happy. Paul Pogba has openly said that he cannot say what he wants to about the manager as it will lead to him getting fined.

Now, the board is also not happy with the manager and is looking for a replacement. Zinedine Zidane is said to be their #1 target right now.

The French legend has been without a club ever since he left Real Madrid in the summer. He won the Champions League three times in 2.5 years with the Madrid but left abruptly after the end of last season.

He has been linked with a director’s role at Juventus but nothing has materialized yet. Zidane is said to be taking his time off and waiting for the right offer to come in.

United are not confident of landing him and have already made backup plans. They have been linked with Maurizio Pochetinno for a long time but BILD claims it is Nuno Santos who is 2nd in the race.

Wolves won the Championship comprehensively last season – topping the table all the way from October till the very end. They ended the season 9 points ahead of 2nd placed, Cardiff City.

The manager has done well in the Premier League as well this season. Wolves have won just one of their 4 games but they managed to get a draw vs Manchester City. That was a huge point for them and they dominated the game completely – something not many teams have managed to do lately vs the Premier League champions.
