Man Utd news: Paul Pogba is IRRITATED with Jose Mourinho… could this be the end?
- Updated: February 16, 2018
PAUL INCE believes Paul Pogba is not happy with the role Jose Mourinho currently has him playing in for Manchester United.
The France international has come under heavy criticism in recent weeks with United losing two of their last three Premier League matches.
He was dropped to the bench for the game against Huddersfield and hasn’t found the net since November.
Pogba was brought back to the club by Mourinho in 2016 for a club-record fee of £89million with the hope he would continue his development after establishing himself as a world star at Juventus.
But a return of three goals in all competitions this season has led to further scrutiny on the France international.
Part of his poor goalscoring record is down to the fact he has been deployed in a more defensive role by Mourinho this campaign.
And Ince has questioned the Portuguese coach’s tactics for playing Pogba out of position.
“If what’s being said about Pogba is true, that he regrets joining United, then I’d be disappointed, but not surprised,” Ince told Paddy Power.
“I can understand why Pogba might feel irritated with the position Mourinho currently has him playing in
'He likes to roam, he likes to attack. He wasn’t signed to be a holding midfield player and that’s clearly not what he enjoys or is best at. So why does he insist on playing him there?
“[January-signing forward] Alexis Sanchez wants to be on the ball and wants to be part of the action. You can’t have both him and Pogba roaming across the pitch, because then you’ll lose the shape of your team.
“The signals that are coming from Pogba is that he’s not happy and if he doesn’t feel like he fits in, then I could see him leaving in the summer.
'He’s one of the best players in the world and deserves to be played in his right position where he can show that off and express himself.”
