Liverpool to offer Sadio Mane lucrative new deal – Reports

According to reports, Liverpool have begun discussions with winger Sadio Mane over a lucrative new contract. Mane has three years left on his current deal but Klopp is looking to ward off possible suitors and tie him down to a long-term contract.

The two other members of the prolific attacking troika, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah, both signed new five-year deals recently and Klopp is keen on retaining the services of Mane, who played an important role in Liverpool’s successful campaign last season, scoring 20 goals in total.

Regarding the progress Liverpool are currently making, Klopp said, “When I speak about the good mood in the club, that is not only in the stands. We are Liverpool as a team and the boys want to be part of it. That’s really cool and it’s a big achievement for the club because these boys, Bobby Firmino, Mo Salah and Sadio Mané, and a lot of the others as well, could play for pretty much any team in the world.

“That’s how it is and a good sign for the club that they want to stay. It is an improved situation that these players don’t use us and then go. It’s cool but now we all together have to deliver. Sign your contracts but now, go again – play and fight, run and shoot, all that stuff. That’s football,” he went on to add.

Liverpool have brought in the likes of Fabinho, Naby Keita, Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson this window and with Salah, Firmino and now Mane likely to be a part of the club for the considerable future, they could well hit the heights they did a decade or so ago.

The Reds begin their Premier League campaign on August 12th before which they square off against Napoli and Torino in their two final preseason games.
