Liverpool legend spits on Manchester United fan’s daughter after Premier League defeat

Former England international and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher was caught on camera spitting at the daughter of a Manchester United fan. The unpleasant incident came as aftermath of Liverpool’s 2-1 defeat to bitter rivals Manchester United on Saturday.

A Manchester United fan, who noticed Carragher in his car wanted to remind him of the score.

The interaction seemed to have started on a pleasant note as Carragher exchanged waves with the girl’s dad. The victim, however, was not done with that and went on to wind down the passenger window to remind the Sky Sports pundit of the score.

The dad was heard shouting, 'Unlucky Jamie lad. Two, one.'

That didn’t go down well with the former Reds defender who resorted to spitting on the fan’s daughter after pulling down his car window.

Later in his tweet, Carragher stated that it was not the first time he was verbally heckled that day on the road.

Carragher, who is currently employed at Sky Sports as a pundit has been pulled out of their line-up for the Manchester United’s Champions League against Sevilla game midweek.

Responding to the incident, Sky Sports, stated: 'It's unacceptable behaviour and we will be addressing it with Jamie.'

Sky will now mull things over regarding the long-term future of Carragher. Sky stood by Kirsty Gallagher when she was charged for drunk-driving last year but they axed Andy Gray and Richard Keys for sexist comments made back in 2011.

Carragher himself has now apologised for the incident, calling his actions “totally out of order”.

Totally out of order & Ive apologised personally to all the family this evening. I was goaded 3/4 times along the motorway while being filmed & lost my rag. No excuse apologies.
