Juventus to offer United target a new contract

Juventus are planning to offer France midfielder Blaise Matuidi a new contract that will see him stay at the club until 2021. The Bianconeri have been in constant touch with Matuidi's agent Mino Raiola for a while now and they want him to stay in Turin in spite of top European clubs like Barcelona and Manchester United interest in acquiring the player's services.

Throughout the summer, Matuidi has attracted offers from clubs like Barcelona and United and Raiola has been touch with the club with the updates over news surrounding the player's transfer.

Juventus were in discussions with him and ever since he won the 2018 World Cup with France, they have decided not to let the midfielder leave the club at any cost.

After missing the first game of the World Cup, Matuidi played an important role in France's campaign in Russia as he complemented Paul Pogba and N'Golo Kante well in the midfield and made sure that his team went all the way and won the World Cup.

According to Calciomercato, Juventus don't want to take off Max Allegri's favourite midfielder and are considering to offer the Frenchman a contract soon. According to the contract, Matuidi will get improved wages and will extend his stay at the club by one year to 2021. The contract is likely to be the last contract for the midfielder, who will be 34 by the time his new contract (if he is given one) ends.

Before the start of 2017-18 season, Matudi joined the Serie A giants from Paris-Saint Germain for €20 million, plus up to €10.5 million in potential bonuses that would depend on the number of appearances made by him in Juventus' competitive matches, in a three-year contract that will end in 2020. Since then, he has become an integral part of his plans as he starts games for Juventus on a regular basis.
