Everton looking to bring in former Manchester United winger Adnan Januzaj – Reports

Everton have contacted Real Sociedad for Adnan Januzaj, according to reports from Belgian newspaper Het Nieuwsblad. They have placed a bid of £30million plus add-ons as a part of a supposed five-year deal. After 63 outings for Manchester United and a short stint at Sunderland, he could be back in the Premier League for Marco Silva’s Everton.

Januzaj caught the eyes of many when he scored a screamer against England in Belgium’s final group stage clash. That goal ensured a top spot in group G for Roberto Martinez’s side, who eventually went back home with a bronze medal.

Having been a regular under David Moyes and Louis Van Gaal, Januzaj was tipped to become the next ‘big thing’ at Old Trafford. However, he fell out of favour under Jose Mourinho and then endured loan spells at Borussia Dortmund and Sunderland.

In a total of 35 appearances for Real Sociedad last season, the winger netted four goals and created five more.

This has alerted Everton, who seem to be shaping and constructing a fresher looking squad for the forthcoming season. Het Nieuwsblad also claim that Goodison Park would be a 'nice destination' for the youngster, as he has already lived in the North West part of England.

Also to mention, United do have a buy-back clause in his current contract, but there seems to be no interest from Mourinho and co. presently.

Everton are yet to make a signing this transfer window and will kickstart their PL campaign against newcomers Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Still very young and energetic, Januzaj would be a fine addition to the Toffees line-up. He is quick, technically sound and a creative player. However, he will have to fight for the starting spot with Theo Walcott, should he switch to Everton. This only means that he might not get as many minutes on the pitch as he did in the 2017-18 season.
