Chelsea News: Roman Abramovich ready for a double raid with Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani

Roman Abramovich has taken things into his own hands and has flown to Italy to secure the signings of Gonzalo Higuain and Daniele Rugani. Daily Mail reports that the Blues are keen on signing the duo from Juventus in a deal worth £89 million.

The Chelsea owner is said to have met with the agent, Fali Ramadani to accelerate the talks with the Serie A champions. Maurizio Sarri has named the Juve duo as his preferred signings, and Abramovich is doing all he can to get the deal done.

Ramadani reportedly has a close relationship with Juventus and was hired by Chelsea to act as an intermediary. The talks between the two clubs are going on, and they are on the brink of an agreement as per the report.

Higuain is expected to cost around £53.5 million, while Rugani will be available for £35.5 million.

Several reports claim that Chelsea have already agreed personal terms with Rugani. He is just waiting for the signal from Juventus to head for his medical as per the reports.

He played under Maurizio Sarri at Empoli in the Serie B a few of seasons ago. He was a key part of the squad as they secured promotion back to the Serie A.

Rugani was the favourite to break into the first team last season following the sale of Leonardo Bonucci to AC Milan, but Allegri opted to play Medhi Benatia instead. This reportedly broke the 23-year-old’s confidence of making it at Juventus.

With Sarri moving to Chelsea and the manager keen on signing him, Rugani has decided to leave Juventus and try his luck at Stamford Bridge. He will face stiff competition from Andreas Christensen, Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz with Kurt Zouma and Gary Cahill reportedly set to be sold.

Meanwhile, Higuain’s move to London is set to depend on Alvaro Morata and Michy Batshuayi. Chelsea are not willing to have both at the club and are keen on selling one or both of them this summer.
