Chelsea look for a swap deal involving Gonzalo Higuain and Alvaro Morata – Reports

Chelsea and Juventus are working on a deal to swap Alvaro Morata and Gonzalo Higuain as per reports in Italy. The two strikers are said to be interested in the deal as well.

According to some reports in Italy, the deal is becoming increasingly possible but Chelsea will have to sort out the managerial situation first. Maurizio Sarri is reportedly close to taking over from Antonio Conte but Chelsea have shown no signs on sacking the manager or holding talks with a replacement.

Morata was spotted holding talks with Juventus earlier this summer and rumours of him re-joining the Old Lady have been going around ever since. The Spaniard had two productive seasons with the Italian side, and he is open to a return to the club.

Higuain joined Juventus for €90 million 2 seasons ago and has been brilliant for them. The Serie A champions have now made the striker available for transfer as he is deemed surplus to requirements.

Some reports suggest that the potential arrival of Cristiano Ronaldo might be the reason for his sale. The two were not on the same page at Real Madrid, and Juventus want to avoid a repeat of the same situation in Turin.

Maurizio Sarri is reportedly keen on Higuain – a player he managed during his time at Napoli. The manager knows him well and believes that he is perfect for the kind of football he wants to bring to Stamford Bridge.

Reports suggest that Napoli are delaying Chelsea's appointment of Sarri as they want a clause in his contract.  They want to prevent him from taking their star players once takes over at Stamford Bridge.

Morata dropped a massive hint about his future last week with a post on Instagram. He posted a photo of himself with the message: 'Very excited to start again. The past was hard but that is only one more reason to begin fighting again.'
