Arsenal blow: Aaron Ramsey to miss Man City Carabao Cup final because of Arsene Wenger

ARSENAL will reportedly be without Aaron Ramsey for the club’s Carabao Cup final against Manchester City on Sunday.

Arsenal will do battle with Manchester City for the first piece of silverware of the season at Wembley on the weekend.

The Gunners sit well behind Pep Guardiola’s side in the Premier League title but are aiming for a fourth trophy in five years.

However, The Sun say their hopes of putting City to the sword have been dealt a major blow with Ramsey set to miss the game.

The Wales international has been plagued by a persistent groin injury in recent times and has already been ruled out of their Europa League clash against Ostersunds on Thursday.

Ramsey has supposedly been doing everything to ensure he regains fitness in time for Arsenal's game against City.

Yet it appears his hard work will be to no avail.

The Sun say Arsene Wenger has already decided Ramsey will not be risked against Guardiola’s men.

And it will represent a hammer blow to Arsenal’s hopes of winning the trophy.

The Gunners won the FA Cup in 2014 and 2017 courtesy of late goals from Ramsey.

''

Speaking at the weekend, Wenger provided a discouraging update on Ramsey’s fitness.

'It is a little bit sensitive case because we expected him to be a bit further in his development of the groin problem and he doesn't move forward as quickly as we expected it,” he said.

'Today we would say that certainly he will not be available even for the next game against Ostersunds.

“Maybe for the cup final, we don't know yet, it depends how he will progress from now.'
