Sarri to be given smoking area at Chelsea

Chelsea are willing to help Maurizio Sarri's famous smoking addiction by providing him with a separate smoking area inside Stamford Bridge in the coming weeks. According to those close to him, the Italian is capable of smoking up to 80 cigarettes a day at a staggering rate of four-five per hour.

Despite not having much to stress about, he was seen chewing cigarette butts during Chelsea’s opening Premier League fixture against Huddersfield Town, which saw the Blues win 3-0.

Apart from his inventive genius and managerial abilities, Sarri also earned popularity for smoking cigarettes and fags in his time at Napoli.

However, the smoking laws in UK do not permit one to smoke in enclosed areas, including sports stadiums.

Certainly, it would be a difficult task for the regular touchline smoker to stay without lighting one up during a Chelsea match. Thus, the club officials are expected to arrange for a specific area or room to satisfy the 59-year-old’s nicotine cravings.

The Blues’ faithful must follow RB Leipzig, who constructed a smoking room within the changing room for him before their Europa League fixture against Napoli. Although these special treatments are not expected to be provided by other teams, he will have his personal smoking area at Stamford Bridge.

The new-looking Chelsea side face Arsenal in their first home game of the season on 18^th August.

Apart from the laws made by the UK government, the chain-smoking mastermind also has other problems to address, as his side are in for a thrilling yet arduous title challenge. He needs to impose the brand of football everyone is hoping to see at West London rather quickly.

An area where Chelsea could improve is how to overcome a physical opponent, as the Terriers looked the better side in the first 20 minutes or so, courtesy of their strength in midfield and crossing abilities.
