After the sucess of 3rd season of Abu Dhabi T10 League, Now Qatar is hosted the first-ever franchise-based tournament of shortest version of the cricket. Qatar is now the second GCC (Gulf Corporation Council) country to host the format. The Qatar T10 League 2019 is happening just after the enriching success of the recently concluded Abu Dhabi T10 League that has set the benchmark for the shortest format of the game.

Qatar T10 League History
The first editon of Qatar T10 League is scheduled to played between 07 December 2019 to 18 December 2019. There will be 10 matches played between 6 participating teams. The teams will be comprised of 24 international stars 12 players from Associate ICC Countries, Qatar National Cricket team players and many local players from different QCA clubs. As per the latest updates, 73 players have been signed up for the tournament including 17 Qatari players. There are also speculations that international superstars like Yuvraj Singh, Mohammad Hafeez, Angelo Mathews among many others will be a part of the tournament. All the matches will be played at the Asian Town International Cricket Stadium.

Meanwhile, the Qatar Cricket Association has thanked the ICC for legalizing the tournament adding further that this will help Qatar to make its presence felt in the world map of cricket.
In a press release Youssef J Al Kuwari, President QCA, said: “Qatar is proud to have been assigned this league by ICC. This will take our country to an international sports arena.”
The cricket association has also managed to line up several sponsors for the tournament which will help them garner revenue for the tournament.
The success of the Abu Dhabi T10 League will hopefully rub off in the Qatar T10 League which is trying to get into an elite list of franchise cricket leagues around the world. The craze and the razmataz around T10 League are also expected to be around the Qatar T10 League as well.

The inaugural Edition of the Qatar T10 League is all set to kickstart from 7th December at West End Park International Cricket Stadium, Doha. In the opening match, Pearl Gladiators will take on Flying Oryx on the opening day of the tournament. Total 6 teams have been finalized to show up their talent. The names of these 6 teams are:

As per the rules of the tournament decided by the board, Each team will consist of 15 members (1 ICON player + 3 Overseas professionals + 3 Associate member country players + 8 Qatar resident or registered players).
Each team will play a minimum of 5 matches in a single round-robin league format with the top four teams at the conclusion of the league stage to qualify for the semifinals.
