IPL 2020: 332 Players Shortlisted for IPL Auction 2020

The upcoming 2020 IPL auction in Kolkata is slated for 19th of December, 2019 and is generating immense excitement amongst fans and enthusiasts. Some of the biggies who have been shortlisted at the highest base price of INR 2 crore include Chris Lynn, Dale Steyn, Glenn Maxwell, Josh Hazlewood, Angelo Mathews and Mitchell Marsh.

Total 997 players had registered for the IPL auction and just 332 are shortlisted for the final round. This includes 143 overseas players, 186 players from India and 3 players from the Associate Nations. In the foreign players’ tally, 35 Australian cricketers have been shortlisted while 23 players from South Africa have also been shortlisted. 22 players from England have been shortlisted too while 19 have been shortlisted by the West Indies. New Zealand have 18 shortlisted players in the auction. Sri Lanka have 14 shortlisted players while Afghanistan and Bangladesh have 7 and 5 shortlisted players respectively. No Zimbabwean player will be up for grabs at the IPL auction.

Robin Uthappa has the highest base price amongst Indian players at INR 1.5 crore and was previously released by KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders). INR 1 crore is the base price for Yusuf Pathan, Piyush Chawla and Jaydev Unadkat, all of whom have been released by their franchises as well. INR 1.5 crore is the base price for several foreign players like Eoin Morgan, Chris Woakes, Chris Morris, Jason Roy, David Willey, Shaun Marsh, Adam Zampa, Kyle Abbott and Kane Richardson. INR 1 crore is the base price for around 20 foreign players.

Ali Khan, the pacer from UAE, was a part of the IPL 2019 auction and is also shortlisted for this year at a base price of INR 20 lakh. Zahoor Khan, the pacer from UAE and Scottish batsman George Munsey are the other two Associate Nation players shortlisted for base prices of INR 20 lakh each. Deepak Hooda has the highest base price of INR 40 lakh for uncapped Indian players. Hooda has been released by Sunrisers Hyderabad previously. This price band also has 6 uncapped foreign players, namely Laurie Evans, Riley Meredith, Cameron Delport, Ben Dwarshuish, James Fuller and Benny Howell. Anureet Singh, Varun Chakravarthy and Jalaj Saxena are amongst 5 Indian players shortlisted for INR 30 lakh as their base prices.

Some Under-19 players are also part of the auction including Priyam Garg, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Shubhang Hegde, Tilak Varma, Akash Singh, Ravi Bishnoi, Sushant Mishra and Kartik Tyagi.
