Apart from a nerve-wracking encounter, the Indian Premier League, popularly known as IPL, is widely considered for its extortionate amounts the players receive during auctions. Almost each and every franchise has simply shelled out the colossal amount of money on both the overseas and Indian players, whom they wanted to purchase and retain in their squad. As now this league enters the second decade, let’s look at the players who managed to grab the attention of the franchise owners by fetching over 10 crores rupees in IPL history.

Players who got over 10 crores rupess in IPL History

Yuvraj Singh

The sixer king, Yuvraj Singh, remains an absolutely undisputed T20 king. This hard-hitting all-rounder got roped in by the very popular team Royal Challengers Bangalore for 14 crores in IPL 2014. But beating that amount, the next year, he managed to fetch 16 crores from Delhi Daredevils (presently known as Delhi Capitals) in 2015 IPL. It makes him the most expensive player in the history of IPL.

Gautam Gambhir

When the topic is about fetching ten crores in IPL auction, the name that arises in the top of the list is the former Indian opener Gautam Gambhir. He was the first player to get ten crores plus bid at the IPL auction. Though almost every franchise wanted to sign him because of his phenomenal batting skills, Kolkata Knight Riders splurged 11.04 crore rupees and took him by their side.

Ravindra Jadeja

Whether it’s batting, fielding or bowling, he does justice in all three sections of cricket, and that is why Ravindra Jadeja is one of the most popular and highest-paid cricketers of all time. In IPL 2012, Ravindra Jadeja was bought by one of the most successful teams of IPL history Chennai Super Kings. He fetched 10.7 crores rupees in an auction and also made justice by showing amazing bowling and fielding skills for his team. Jadeja has become the significant cog of the CSK line-up. His contribution with the bat was not noteworthy last season, and he will be looking to come out all guns blazing in IPL 2020.

Jaydev Unadkat

If you talk about the Indian domestic circuit of cricket, Jaydev Unadkat comes as one of the big names there. And keeping his bowling skills in mind, Rajasthan Royals spent a mammoth 11.4 crore to grab him in their team in IPL 2018. This left-arm seam bowler defied the opposition batsmen with variations of bowling and ended the season as one of the top bowlers. In fact, in 2018 IPL, he became the game-changer in few matches.

Rising Pune Supergiants paid 14.5 crores to get the Englishman in their squad for the 2017 season.

Tymal Mills

When you talk about fetching over 10 crores in IPL auction, how can you not name an overseas player? Tymal Mills has been one of the highest-paid players in IPL history. He grabbed the attention of IPL franchises in 2017 when he performed exceptionally well in the t20 series of India vs. England. Keeping his form in mind, Royal Challengers Bangalore managed to sign him with 12 crores in 2017 IPL as a replacement of Mitchell Starc. The left-arm pacer scalped six crucial wickets while conceding runs at a decent economy rate of 8.57.

Along with these famous names, two Indian youngsters K L Rahul and Manish Pandey, also got to manage fetching over 10 crore rupees in IPL auction.
