The IPL 2020 auctions were very exciting with almost 200 players being presented for bidding IPL franchises while 62 players got contracts across the 8 teams. Pat Cummins, of course, had the biggest contract worth Rs. 15.5 crore from KKR (Kolkata Knight Riders) while Kings XI Punjab won Glenn Maxwell for a whopping Rs. 10.75 crore as well. Chris Morris was sold to RCB (Royal Challengers Bangalore) for Rs. 10 crore while Sheldon Cottrell went to Kings XI Punjab for Rs. 8 crore. Shimron Hetmyer was snapped up by Delhi Capitals for Rs. 7.75 crore. Piyush Chawla was bought by Chennai Super Kings for Rs. 6.75 crore.
Varun Chakravarthy got Rs. 4 crore after being signed up by Kolkata Knight Riders while Yashasvi Jaiswal got Rs. 2.4 crore as his contract from Rajasthan Royals. Sunrisers Hyderabad picked up Priyam Garg and Virat Singh for Rs. 1.9 crore each. There were some deals like David Miller (Rajasthan Royals) and James Neesham (Kings XI Punjab) where prices were quite attractive, i.e. Rs. 75 lakh and Rs. 50 lakh respectively. Even Chris Lynn went for just Rs. 2 crore to Mumbai Indians.
