IPL Auction 2020: List of Number of Players from each Country

A total of 971 cricketers, has given their names in the IPL Auction 2020. Among these names, 713 are Indians, and 258 are overseas cricketers. Some of the biggest cricketers have decided to out from this year auction including England Test Captain Joe Root, Fast-bolwer Mitchell Starc, Mushfiqur Rahim from Bangladesh and Liam Livingstone from Engalnd. Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell, who opted out of IPL 2019 has also registered their names ahead of the IPL Auction 2020.
The IPL 2020 players auction will take place on 19 December 2019 in Kolkata. It’s usually held in April-May every year but this year’s auction is going to conducted in Kolkata for the first time instead of the traditional venue of Bengaluru. The IPL Governing Council has announced the details of the final players’ registration for the IPL 2020 players’ auction on 02 December, which had the last date on 30th November 2019. All the IPL franchises will submit their list of shortlisted players on 09 December 2019 till 5 pm.
All franchises were allotted Rs 82 crore each for the last edition of IPL 2019, Rs 85 crore per team has been earmarked for the upcoming season of Indian Premier League (IPL). Every franchise will also have an additional purse of Rs 3 crore in addition to the remaining balance in their purses from the IPL Auction 2019.

Australian all-rounder Glenn Maxwell who opted out from the last edition has also registered his name for the auctions this year. He took a break from international cricket after the 2019 World Cup due to mental health problems and now he is targeting national comeback in the Australian ODI and T20I squads through the IPL. While Mitchell Starc last played in the IPL back in 2015, English test captain Joe Root has decided not listed their name for this year auctions after none of the franchises picked him in the last year auction. Mitchell Starc was also bought by KKR in the IPL Auction 2019 but he didn’t play for the franchise as he was suffering from a knee injury just before the season.
A total of 73 slots are remaining to fill up in the IPL 2020 auctions with 29 of them for overseas players. Among the 754 uncapped, 634 players are from India. There are 196 capped and 60 uncapped international players. With the various franchises having various needs and requirements it will be interesting to see how they strategize and fill the spots at the auction.

There are 258 non-Indians players who have been listed their names for the IPL auction 2020. Australia has the highest number of players on this list, which is 55. South Africa is ranked 2nd position in this list with 54 players.
