When it comes to cricket, the madness that ensues around the world is one of a kind indeed. As the ICC World Cup Cricket 2019 kickstarts this year, there are predictions galore about which country will take home the Cup this year. It all depends on where the different teams end up on the ICC World Cup 2019 points table as each team plays one another.

In the event of teams finishing on equal points in the League Stage, the ordering of teams will be decided in the following order of priority:
The team with the most wins in the League Stage will be placed in the higher position.
- If there are teams with equal points and equal wins in the League Stage then in such case the teams will be ordered according to their net run rate in the League Stage matches (refer to 16.10.4 below for the calculation of net run rate).
- If there are teams that are still equal, they will be ordered according to the result(s) of the head to head match(es) played between them (points, then if still equal, net run rate in those matches).
- If the above does not resolve the League Stage ordering and there are teams that are still equal, the teams will be ordered as per their League Stage seedings.
- If all matches in the League Stage produce no results the teams will be ordered as per their League Stage seedings and the top 4 seeded teams will progress to Semi-Finals.
Semi Final:
- If a Semi-Final is tied, the teams shall compete in a Super Over to determine which team progresses to the Final. Refer attached Appendix H.
- If following a tie, weather conditions prevent the Super Over from being completed, or if the match is abandoned or a no result at the end of the reserve day, then the team which proceeds to the Final will be the team that finished in the higher position in the League Stage.
Final:
- In the event of a tied final, the teams shall compete in a Super Over to determine which team is the winner. Refer attached Appendix H.
- If following a tie, weather conditions prevent the Super Over from being completed, or if the match is abandoned or a no result at the end of the reserve day, the teams shall be declared joint winners.
New Zealand, Australia, India and South Africa were the top two teams from Group A and Group B respectively in 2015. Sri Lanka, West Indies, Bangladesh and Pakistan also qualified for the quarter finals last time. However, this time in 2019, the world cup is based on a Round Robin format where each team plays all the other teams. The top 4 teams in the table will qualify for the semi finals.
Australia has always been a favorite in cricket, having won the World Cup five times already. To win it in England is definitely going to add another feather on their cap and they are sure to go for it with all their might. On the other hand, England will have the full advantage of playing on their home turf, with the pitch made to perfection for them.
India sure has a young team this time and they will try with all their might to get their third World Cup home. They have already have had some great performances and they had been the first winner of the T20 World Cup as well. On the other hand, South Africa will get yet another chance to win their first ever World Cup. They have always been a very strong team but the Cup seems to elude them every time. They will try to rise really high and fast in the World Cup cricket points table.
West Indies has always been very aggressive about the game and they can give a stiff competition to any team. New Zealand, always considered the underdogs, has surprising chances of climbing up the Cricket World Cup 2019 England table. The two teams have been practicing rigorously and they can spring quite a few surprises this season.
Afghanistan, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka will really try to surprise the viewers worldwide and they have been known to come up with strong performances from time to time. There is no telling how they might turn the match to their advantage. Pakistan, another country from Asia, is also going to put all its might into winning this tournament but they will surely look forward to defeat India first!
While all the teams would be battling it out with one another, it remains to be seen who gets to take the Cup home and prove their mettle. The English summers are going to bring a lot of excitement this year.
