India vs Bangladesh ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 Match: Key Players and Battles to watch out for

Bangladesh-VS-India

India will take on a resurgent Bangladesh in an exciting match to be held on the 2nd of July, 2019. India are playing well as a team and have defeated Australia, South Africa and Pakistan comfortably so far while Bangladesh has been earning rave reviews for spirited performance and teamwork.

India Bangladesh Head to Head in World Cup

India and Bangladesh have played three games out of which India has won 2 games and Bangladesh has won 1 game.

Team India Advantages

Pretty much everything goes in favour of the Indian team since they have played excellently as a unit. The top order has Rohit Sharma who is in menacing form and even KL Rahul is also doing well. Virat Kohli is in great form as always while the array of all-rounders in Vijay Shankar and Hardik Pandya lend great balance in terms of both batting and bowling. MS Dhoni is the best finisher in the world still and Kedar Jadhav packs a decent punch as well. Bhuvneshwar Kumar has done well with the ball and if he does not play due to injury then Mohammad Shami will be an adequate replacement. Bumrah is definitely on top of his game at the moment and so are the spin twins, namely Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal. All in all, India are the team to beat at the 2019 ICC World Cup!

Team Bangladesh Advantages

Bangladesh have the advantage of consistent performers who have started off well in the 2019 ICC World Cup. Shakib Al Hasan has been at his imperious best, having picked up wickets and scored a mountain of runs as well. At the same time, Mahmudullah has batted brilliantly while Mushfiqur Rahim has shown that he has what it takes to carry the team along in the middle overs. Tamim Iqbal continues to remain a threat at the top of the order while Liton Das can get going on his day. Soumya Sarkar can bat and bowl equally well while Mashrafe Mortaza and Mustafizur Rahman can be deadly for the opposition batting lineup as well. Even Mehidy Hasan is a proven performer.

Battles to watch out for

Rohit Sharma vs. Mustafizur Rahman – Mustafizur and Rohit have played together for the Mumbai Indians and hence this will be an engrossing battle. The Fizz will look to put it past his IPL Captain while Sharma will naturally look to use his own inputs on Rahman to score runs against him.

Hardik Pandya vs. Soumya Sarkar – Both players are indispensable for their teams and will look to create an impact straight away. Both will look to showcase their batting and bowling prowess against each other.

MS Dhoni vs. Mashrafe Mortaza – This is an old rivalry, albeit a healthy one. Mashrafe will be looking to castle Dhoni early while MS will naturally want to hit him out of the park if he can!

Shakib Al Hasan vs. Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal – Both the spinners are bowling excellently in the World Cup so far and they will be looking to get Shakib who is in red hot form this season and will be a major threat, particularly when it comes to playing spin.

Tamim Iqbal vs. Jasprit Bumrah – Bumrah will be looking to castle Bangladesh’s opening hope Tamim Iqbal who has also been in good form of late. Tamim, on the other hand, will be looking to play his brand of aggressive cricket unhindered.
