Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 Schedule, Teams & Time Table

Twenty-twenty matches are the new thing and with the youngsters consuming it so well, everywhere in the world these are being held. The cricket tournament has even reached Caribbean peninsula and now the Caribbean premier league will be starting its 7th season of the tournament from September 4th 2019. The first match is going to be held between Trinbago Knight Riders taking on St Kitts and Nevis Patriots. A total of 6 teams will be playing in this league and 34 matches will be taking place. What will be interesting to watch out for this league is whether the Knight Riders will be able to defend their title of being the champions. The seventh season of this tournament definitely has a lot of things stored for its viewers. If you are new to the game and wondering what’s new, well then here are the top teams and the key features that you ought to look out for this year:

Have look at the 6 teams and their key factors in CPL 2019:

  1. Trinbago Knight Riders: off course the first name has to be of the Knight riders who will play to defend their title as champions. With the amazing win of the last season, the fans are surely expecting a lot this season as well. With their coach, Brendon McCullum things are about to get stirred up. But unfortunately with Dwayne Bravo’s injury things can get a bit complicated. Sunil Narine will probably be opening the match yet again this year. Lendl Simmons has replaced Colin Munro for the first three games and Darren Bravo’s concussion during the second test against India will definitely have some effects on their batting.
  2. Jamaica Tallawahs: This team surely is geared up well with its batting line. Having the best of the lot, they seem very promising. With names like Chris Gayle as opener, Andre Russell and Rovman Powell also coming in, they will surely give a tough competition to their opponents. After almost two seasons Chris Gayle is back and we couldn’t get more excited. Great bowlers like Shamar Springer, Jerome Taylor, Oshane Thomas and Russell, they probably have the best options when it comes to fast bowling. Not just this Zahir Khan from Afghanistan is here to show off his spinning talents as well. It will be really interesting to see how they play strategically with such a strong team and emerge victorious.
  3. 3. Barbados Tridents: With Alex Hales and his commitments with Nottinghamshire, there may be a lot of going on and off the field for him when it comes to this team. He will be playing for the quarterfinals on September 5th and then joining the tridents team. The most difficult thing for this team will probably be how to figure out and get an amazing combination which will defeat the other teams really bad. Even though the team has amazing players like Jason Holder, they do not have the skill required for playing in the twenty-twenty games. The whole team is probably hoping that Hales, Asif Ali and Shai Hope play well.
  4. 4. St Lucia Zouks: They may seem like the not-so-harmful team which is not so strong, but do not be mistaken. This team has probably the most significant players. Bowlers like Lasith Malinga, Fawad Ahmed and Thisara Perara will surely put up a great game that the fans will be enthralled to watch. Niroshan Dickwella is supposed to bat in the top three. If the players play strategically, they might actually have chances of winning. Even though Darren Sammy is in the team, his force is not the same as before. Hence to make their presence felt, the whole team needs to work up.
  5. Guyana Amazon warriors: these warriors are definitely rooting for their amazing line up of bowlers. With Shadab Khan, Chris Green and Ben Laughlin the fans of this team are already predicting a season CPL has ever seen. That’s not the end, players like Nicholas Pooran, Shimron Hetmyer and Shoaib Malik are there to mix in the extra spice that the team needed. Keemo Paul, Chandrapaul Hemraj will put up a show worth watching too. The great games that they showed in the twenty-twenty Canada have made our expectations reach way higher.
  6. St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots: Possibly the team which lacks fire among all, this team really needs to brush up and pull their socks. With Carlos Braithwaite as the captain, people will leave no chance to scrutinize the game. The only reliable player is probably Evin Lewis, on whom the future of this team depends. Players need to take a lot of responsibility on their own. Just like what Mohammad Hafeez and Sheldon Cottrell will have a lot of burden on them.

These were the six teams playing for the title and battle with each other to claimed the top position in the CPL Points Table 2019.  Hope the best team wins!
