Another big name signs up for UAE T20x

England ODI skipper Eoin Morgan is the latest player to have signed with the UAE T20 League, which is set to begin later this year. Morgan becomes the third marquee international player to join the league, following in the footsteps of Andre Russell and David Miller.
Morgan has had enjoyed his fair share of success in the UAE, having led the Kerala Kings to the T10 League title last time around, and will look to extend that run into this season as well.
'The UAE T20x is a league for all players and fans, and it is refreshing to see a progressive and inclusive T20 that gives everyone an equal opportunity to get involved,” Morgan announced.
“The franchise make-up will provide opportunities for players from both ICC Full member and Associate member countries alike to play and develop their skills alongside the very best in the world, which is fantastic.”
Salman Sarwar Butt, chief executive of the UAE T20 League, was delighted at having captured Morgan’s services. “As we count down to the league we will continue to grow UAE T20x's roster of burgeoning stars of cricketers, coaches, mentors and icon players. Morgan's brilliance on the field as a player and a leader makes him a great fit for the UAE T20x and for driving this league to inspire, promote and develop the sport in the UAE and wider region,' he stated.
The UAE T20 League will begin in late December, soon after the conclusion of the T10 league in the country. The competition aims at developing young talent, with three players from non-Test playing teams and three from the UAE, set to be a part of each of the five franchises.
Morgan’s acquisition will prove to be a massive boost to the league and its organisers, with the England skipper one of the most dynamic players in the shorter versions of the game. AB de Villiers too will grace the competition with his presence, having been named the league’s ambassador.
