Cristiano Ronaldo’s son believes he will be better than his father

5-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo’s son believes he will grow up to become an even better footballer than his father. Ronaldo Jr. joined Juventus’ youth side following his father’s move to Turin this summer, and has already netted goals on a regular basis for the club.

Ronaldo, in a chat with BeIn Sport, revealed that his son feels he will surpass his father’s feats. 'I hope that Cris, my son, can be like his dad. He says he is going to be better (than me), but I think it's difficult,” the Portuguese superstar said.

“I am very happy to have scored, for him too. He is playing for Juventus and adapting really well, it has been easier for him than for me,' he went on to add.

According to the former Real Madrid striker, his son is extremely competitive and hates losing; qualities Ronaldo himself possessed – and still does – when he was growing up.

However, he also conceded that Ronaldo Jr. would have the freedom to choose his own path and that he does not have to follow in his father’s footsteps.

While Ronaldo Jr. has taken to Juventus life like a fish to water – he scored four goals on his debut for the youth team and another on Saturday –  it has taken Cristiano a lot more time to adapt to Italian football and the club’s style of play, only scoring his first goal for the club in his fourth appearance – against Sassuolo this past weekend.

However, he seems to be hitting his stride and will be looking to make an impact on his Champions League bow for the Old Lady, against Valencia later tonight.
