Bhuvneshwar Kumar unhappy with the media for rumours

A few days ago, social media was busy congratulating India’s ODI vice-captain Rohit Sharma, for expecting his first child soon. While that news was authentic, the word on Bhuvneshwar Kumar too expecting a child was rubbished by the bowler himself, who took to Twitter to clear the air.

“Yet another false claim by the media is doing the rounds about me going to become a father. Please do not spread anything like this without confirmation just to make news. I would like to request all to not spread anything personal without authenticity! @MumbaiMirror,”

The pace spearhead got married to his childhood love in November last year. The two dated for quite a few years, before informing their families of the same.

“I know her since childhood. We used to stay in the same colony. We have known each other since we were 12-13 years old. Other thing was we stayed next to each other. It was like if I throw a stone from my house, it will swing to her house. Parents took some time but they accepted,” Kumar had revealed in one of his interviews.

Talking about the bowler’s on-field life, Kumar’s back injury made him sit out for most of India’s tour of England, after which he was back in the squad for the Asia Cup where he performed well. He is currently not a part of the first two ODIs against the Windies, which gets underway on October 21 at Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati.

Resting him from the ODIs against the Windies was an intelligent step, given that India’s next major assignment is against Australia, where the Meerut-born bowler will be very crucial. He will also be India’s first-choice pacer in the ICC World Cup next year, to be held in England and Wales.
