Pep Guardiola tunnel brawl: Man City manager CLASHES with Wigan boss over Delph red card

MANCHESTER CITY’s manager Pep Guardiola was involved in a heated clash with his Wigan counterpart as their FA Cup clash descended into a tunnel brawl.

Pep Guardiola and Wigan manager Paul Cook exchanged heated words at half time in the tunnel after Fabian Delph had been sent off.

The incident came after Delph was shown a red card for a lunge on Max Power.

Referee Anthony Taylor appeared set to show the yellow card before opting for red.

And a spat in the tunnel followed as the whistle for half time went moments later.

City had already been frustrated by League 1 Wigan, having missed a number of chances to take the lead.

The Latics also squandered their fair share of openings.

And it looked as though the game was petering out for half time when Delph flew into a challenge with Power, leaving the Wigan man in a heap on the turf.

Wigan players immediately surrounded the referee, while manager Cook cried foul from the touchline.

And that was when the official appeared to change his mind over the incident and bring out the red card.

Delph was fuming with the decision and remonstrated with Power, before heading down the tunnel himself.

And moments later Guardiola caught up to Cook as the Wigan boss headed for the dressing rooms.

In footage pulled by the BBC, it appears as though Peter Reid was involved in the scuffle and tried to pull the two managers apart.
